This year marks the 250th birthday of the United States of America. On July 4th, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress - and our country was born!

Events
Spirit of Independence Festival - June 4-6
A three-day immersive celebration of American history, culture, and community at the home of the original Declaration of Independence.
Virginia Resolved - June 6-7
A weekend of revolutionary activity including living history interpreters and demonstrations, cavalry drills, historic speeches, a citizenship ceremony, fireworks, and plenty of food, music, and family fun.
Great American State Fair - June 27 - July 10
A celebration that will transform the National Mall with state and territory pavilions celebrating all 56 states and territories, specialty exhibits, live performances, interactive experiences, and classic fair attractions. Educational exhibits and immersive digital experiences will bring the Story of America to life for guests of all ages.
Workhouse Arts Center Annual Fireworks & Community Festival - June 27th
Live music, entertainment, delicious food, midway carnival activities, free interactive activities, miniature golf, and fireworks.
America's 250th Birthday in the Parks - June 30th
Celebrate America's 250th Birthday with the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department! Get the department's Passport to the Parks program and then go to each listed park to explore local history and put that park's stamp in your Passport.'
Summer Concert Series: U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps & U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps - July 2nd
Celebrate America’s 250th with a special joint performance on Thursday, July 2 at 7 PM by U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps “The Commandant’s Own” and the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps.
Independence Fireworks Celebration - Manassas Park - July 2nd
Fireworks and food trucks at Signal Hill Park.
4th of July Festivities at Seven Oaks Lavender Farm - July 3rd and 4th
Celebrate the 4th with face painting, freedom fiddlers, and making a teddy bear.
Celebrate America 4th of July Manassas - July 4th
Starting at 3 p.m., there will be games and rides for kids, face painting, 4th of July memorabilia, and multiple food and craft vendors. Fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
An American Celebration at Mount Vernon - July 4th
A day filled with fun festivities, including drills, fife & drum, a hot air balloon demonstration, lawn games, a puppet show, and an 18th century magician! Fireworks July 3rd and July 4th at 6pm.
Kids & Pets Parade - Warrenton - July 4th
Parade followed by music and a reading of the Declaration of Independence.
The Big Boom at Great Meadow - July 4th
Vendor Village, Kids Fun Zone, Aerial Shows, Live Music, and Fireworks!
Dale City Independence Day Parade - July 4th
Celebrate the 4th with a parade down Dale Boulevard.
Sunday Funday Concerts - July 5th
The 257 Army Band performs at the Harris Pavilion at 3:00.
Party for the Revolution at Gunston Hall - July 11th
Enjoy a full day of crafts, games, music, and more. Connect with community partners to learn about Virginia during the Revolution, make your own tricorn hat and cockade, play 18th-century games, and enjoy sweet treats in honor of this historic anniversary.
