Materials Needed
- 2 paper plates
- Filling: Dry beans, rice, or any other items that will make a noise
- Craft stick
- Stapler
- Glue
- Markers, crayons, paint, and/or stickers
- Streamers or ribbons
Instructions
Decorate the Plates
- Use markers, crayons, paint, or colored pencils to decorate
- Add stickers, adhesive gems, etc. if desired
- Feel free to outline shapes for smaller children to color in
Add the Noisemaking Items to center
- Place one plate decorated side down
- Add a handful of dry beans, rice, or other items to the center
- Place the second plate directly on top of the other plate
- Parent or an older child now will staple all around the outside of the two plates, leaving room for the craft stick
Add Final Decorations
- Slide the craft stick in place then staple tightly on either side of the stick; Add glue or tape to secure in place
- Glue or staple streamers or ribbons around the plate
- Be sure all is securely in place; adjust as necessary
- Shake at "midnight"!
